but these wheels are only 5.5" wide...i REALLY doubt that 215's would fit. what is the widest i could/can go? 185?

i tried tire rack, but what i dont like is you have to specify a width aspect ratio and diameter. other sites you can search just by diameter. i fund these falkon's at www.tiresavings.com

i wouldnt say that i had 1k to play with, but i got a nice tax return and splurged because i doubt i will ever come across ones this nice EVER again cool.gif

You can get various 13" sizes for street or race on tirerack, tires.com, and others. Even though they are light mugen rims, I would never use those at the track for fear of damaging them. Get some good 13" street tires, with rim protecting sidewalls, and some VX, or 85Si rims for competition. Rims that are replacable. I like the look of my BFG tires with white letters, however 80s they are.

Edit- Sears and tires.com both had Falken Ziex 512s starting in the 40s price wise. The Sears ones were a sale, the tires.com normal price.

I had these tires on my CRX and now I have them on my new car as well. I had 15" rota slipstreams on the rex. They are (IMO) great tires for the price, but I unfortunately don't have much to compare them to. I did autocross with these tires and they stuck to the road very well. They also do very well in the rain. I will continue to buy them as long as they make them. All around great tire.

Good bang for the buck!

In case you aren't sold yet.. the HTR 200s are unbeatable for the money & range of 13" sizes.

I had a set of Falken ZE 512s in 225/40-16 & I was disappointed with them... poor dry grip, molded extremely narrow(205/45-16 Paradas were wider), & they have a huge rim protector flange that is downright ugly in my opinion. The only thing I would praise them on is wet grip & ride comfort.

Also try onlinetires.com for a couple of other cheap options in 185/60-13.

Running 185/70/13 on 5in wide VX rims, was going to put on 195/205's but had to keep the final price around 200$ ( 203$ total ). The tires I just got cost 33$ a piece.

I know "squareback" used those Sumitomo HTR200 215/50/13 on stock 5.5" wide stealies.
I think that the Falkens are grippy but never tried the Sumitomos.
