Checked the cam timing - was one tooth out on the exhaust cam, corrected it but still nothing.......... ?

Re-checked fuelling and spark, everything is good but its still not firing. Any other ideas?

just FYI..I know this isnt the correct thread...but I have two sets of older kawa bike carbs....think they are off a 750,I have the head too...but no nomenclature on them, they measure like 32mm on the throat.
PM if intrigued..their just sitting around.

MODS..move this if necessary...just fielding around if anyone here is interested in them.

email will follow with pics and better discription if interested
oh yeah, faster AND furious..Heh Heh Heh

better to be thought the fool..
rather then to open one's mouth and confirm it

use may include risk factors these include;anal leakage, oily discharge, copious flatulence, bloating, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, body rejecting genitals,a racing or severely diminished heart rate/including death. discontinue use if health insurance ends,or patient turns blue and doctor leaves after declaring patient has died...your results may vary

I don't want to hijack the thread, but if the carbs are anything like my R1 Mikunis, I may know what's wrong.

I'll send you a PM.

starting a bike carb'd car is something that requires fiddling with the idle screw a bunch and a lot of patients, if you haven't quite gotten it to start yet you might try a couple things.

make sure the idle screw is set to max or almost max idle open, not opened with your foot a little on the gas- this isn't the same thing and with some experience you will figure out why.
get a trusty helper to crank your engine over as you put your hand over a couple of the throttles to make a "choke" affect

or an easier way is to spray a fair amount of starting fluid in all the opened butterflies.

bike carb's are not like regular carbs, you start the car with your foot OFF the gas pedal- these carbs don't have accelerator pumps so when opening the butterflies you pretty much just lean the intake mix really bad to where it won't even try to start.

GO FORTH AND TRYeth MY METHOD

Thanks Zakats - I'll adjust the idle screw with some starting fluid and the other stuff. Thanks for your help.

not a problem- when you get it running, post some videos! I'm anxious to see another ITC setup running.
best of luck

Haven't updated here for a while.

After a few variation of an intake manifold, finally got it sorted(ish)

Started with the setup further up this thread then this one:

And ended up with a custom pro job - Spec'd to my dimensions
Can anyone spot the mistake? So need to take it back for an adjustment  bit of miscommunication!
Anyway still looks great.

Built in Vac feeds

Water feed

Very clean port entry

This is the issue I'm getting sorted - was a bit of miscommunication blink.gif
So the runners currently bend down sad.gif instead of up (steady girls!!) But if length counts...... !

Hopefully the adjustment can be made next week - and get it on and running before next weekend.

I hope that's enough angle, it doesn't quite look like 45 degrees

Too bad about the misunderstanding, but it will look good! How much does a piece like that cost to get made?

Zakats: When the runners are rewelded (rotated 180*) the angle is 35* + the engine tilt = 45*. On the previous setup (blue couplings) it ran +/- 5*.

P-Tail: Cost me £200 ($400) - expensive but its part of a package I'm putting together (tuned length header, etc, etc) and there isn't anything off the shelf to the correct spec that I wanted.

Baseline dyno run in the next month or so - then a ported race head goes on, a custom tuned header, probably CDI ignition system, adjustable camgears and lots of tuning. Part 2 is (eventually) an increase in displacement, 11:1CR, big cams, bigger carbs, blah, blah, blah.
