No way. You're jetted too rich. DCOEs should get good milage around 30mpg.
Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.
WTB: 14x8 or 9" Panasports or Watanabe RS.
WTB: 3g Civic hatch gauge cowl, brown.

why are you scared to run leaner? And I believe Omega is refering to jet size and not the mix ratio. (physically changing out the jet) upposed to just leaning it out.
Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

correct me if im wrong but omega is refering to type of weber carb. as i was to. nothing to do with mix ratio. and being that the spark plugs are bearly tan right now i do not want to go to lean and burn up the pistons.

crazi, call me crazy, but if the 38 mm's line up with the ports on the head, couldnt you just take the intake manifold, cut the runners completely off, thread the holes on the plate that mates to the head, and thread in some pipe of some sort to attach the carbs to, that just go straight in? or would that be too simple?

The only problem with that, is flow; if the manifold ports are now round the head would need to be ported to match for better flow. So it is a good Idea, if there's enough room to be taken out of the head, and if you can find a tap that large to thread it for the pipe (I haven't looked so I don't know if they come in the 1"-1.5" range), and I guess you could slap on a lot of JB weld to seal them. But hopefully I plan on cutting a new manifold flange (out of 1/2"-3/8" mild steel) then welding short pipes on it for the runners... but if I ever had a spare D16A1 manifold, I'd try this new idea of yours.
And if I could tig new aluminum runners on the current manifold I would.

It looked to me like the carbed IM runners were round, or very close to it, whereas the FI ones were alot more oval

True, they are. FWIW I'm using the D16A1 manifold, so it wouldn't work for me. But it's still a good idea that needs to be tried.
edit:
If I ever found a tap big enough, I'd give it a shot on my DX mani.
