Some of you have seen my new project on here or honda-tech but Im starting my ever so slow build thread on here since finding the parts takes a bit of work. So I bought this 87 Civic Si from an older person on craigslist with 195,000 on the car with working AC. It was bought and maintained at our local Honda dealer. $700 and he said it just needed a clutch, brakes and minor tune up stuff. The car is well optioned with factory 13" aloys, AC, floormats, leather wraped wheel, armrest, rear speaker pods, cargo cover (broken). The outside is very clean but the paint is faded. The interior is very clean with only a couple minor issues. I installed a new ignition and alternator which is why the car wouldnt stay running. And I installed my wood grain Personal/Nardi steering wheel and OEM optional Prelude wood grain shiftknob that was out of my DA cause its kinda retro. My plan is to do a full suspension overhall with some track inspired parts and Im an OEM accessory whore so its gona get fully optioned out. Plus Im a Mugen parts collector so my search is on...

So I swaped the clutch with an OEM replacement from Excedy and a brand new flywheel. At the same time I nstalled a new pcv valve and hose, neg battery cable, thermostatand did a tranny flush. I also picked up new OEM wiper blades front and rear and updated all of the bulbs on the car. It got some new NGK plugs and the NGK wires are on order. I went to the local junkyard that has 5-10 gen III's and I looked in the back of a gold 86 Civic and the super rare optional rear spoiler was just layin in the backseat. SCORE!!! Its not mint but its in pretty good shape for how old it is. It cost me a whopping $12.50! So now the wing is installed and I got my new front Cusco strut bar in today also. Grabbed the JDM ITR chrome oil cap from my Integra. Im gona start on the suspension and wheels next so more updates soon...

Rite now I want to keep the stock engine cause its still pretty fun to drive, just enough to keep me from gettin lots of tickets! When it blows Ill swap in a ZC and maybe later Ill go B-series. Never the less Im an all motor guy so it will stay that way unless I can get ahold of a HKS or Mugen turbo system. I love rare parts and I like to keep it old school! I would like to get into some autocrossing after the suspension is done. Mugen pedals, shiftknob and Poly shifter bushings installed tomaro...

I have pretty good luck tracking down some rare stuff around here. I know of a few junk yards that out in the sticks were they always have quite a few gen III Civics, gen I CRXs and lots of older Hondas. Half the fun is finding out what your gona find that day. Im on a bumper gaurd quest! Ill be keepin my eyes open for more.

Oh ya, my set up isnt that nice yet cause Iv only had the car a month but plenty of more stuff is coming soon as long as I can track it down. If anybody has any rare OEM/JDM accessories that they want to sell just message me cause Im trying to get this Si fully optioned. OEM roof rack should be here soon I hope if this guy actually comes off of it. I just dont know if it will look good but oh well.

Heres the write up!
1. Remove rubber covers on the clutch and brake pedal assembly.
2. Take Mugen pedals out of the package.
3. Use an allen wrench and install Mugen pedal covers on to the pedal assembly with the supplied clamps.
4. Enjoy the Mugen pedals and feel the extra 15 hp it gives the car! It should be plent fast now!
Ha ha just kidding, they are expensive but I have a couple set laying around the garage from other projects and my stock rubber cover are really worn. The best pedals to find are the SRR (purple, red, polished) because the actually bolt down thru the pedal assembly instead of lame clamps (even Mugen) that every pedal kit comes with. Thay just loosin up and fall off half the time. Mugen is just bling factor!

I had some mint old school Volk Racing Winning F-Zero's layin around my garage and it was the first sunny day we have had in some time so I bolted them on for fun. I really need to lower the car and 17's are way to big but they dont look to terrible on the Si!

Ive got a really nice set of 14" black w/ polished lip MR-5s.
They are Mr D's old wheels. All lug covers, all center caps, pretty damn nice original condition.
Id entertain the idea of selling them since theres a set of Mugen NR's for sale here locally that id like to get.
I loved em on lilbuddy's car and would love to have a set.

Ill sell them to you for $1000 shipped. Comes with decent Yokohama AVS intermediates (yes the sweet discontinued ones from ages ago), 185/60/14. High resolution pictures available.
