#568812 Losing Oil, Where?

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 19 August 2014 - 03:14 PM in 1G CRX

If it's external leaking I mix engine oil with oil dye from the A/C system and just search with the yellow tinted glasses& black light.

#568580 Iacv Rubbers

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 11 August 2014 - 01:27 AM in Projects

I cut the orings in half with a razor to compensate for the thickness, it sits perfect and better than the old worn out seals.

So I found some orings at pepboys (asked the parts guy for individuals) they are the same diameter but thickness is not the same. Here is a blowout of what's included in the mechanism.

Orings I found and cut in half to make it work, I will be using rtv fuel proof sealant to aid in sealing.

Note... They aren't seated flush because I didn't sit them perfectly but they do mate if you take your time and position them.

Now to assemble it all up and check for leaks.

#568526 Ef Brake Swap?

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 08 August 2014 - 09:59 AM in Swaps

I used 91 civic sedan brakes for the front and it's all plug and play. The grinding you have is from the lca making contact with the rotor. sorry Little late.

#568162 Hi I Got A Question On The Front Shock Covers Surrounds

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 27 July 2014 - 09:12 AM in 3G Civic

You need them because the large washer on the very top prevents the strut shank from ripping right through the strut mount.
Anyone else vouch for this, it's been while since I seen a torn strut mount.

#567917 1St Car Or Not?

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 18 July 2014 - 09:51 AM in Projects

Nice choice, to be honest I didn't know anything about cars until I got my first 86 crx. It broke down on me and I was forced to keep fixing it, also looking for modifications helped me mechanically. I now consider myself a mechanic since I can work on other cars without guidance and do work properly.
Start watching "how to" videos or read forums and information sticks to you and is universal in the car world, it's intimidating at first but your confidence will build up.

#567867 Ac Compressor, Do Not See The Clutch Move When On?

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 16 July 2014 - 09:45 PM in 1G CRX

Check to see if it's pressure related first by connecting the both blue/red wires on the pressure sensor switch together and then quickly turn on the A/C and hear for a clicking on the compressor. If it clicks your in luck if not then there is an issue elsewhere.

#567710 Question For 1St Gen Crx Guys

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 13 July 2014 - 12:18 AM in General Posts

Yeah you can still. I don't have any vendors but if you go to a local machine shop they should be great help for searching kits. I've heard about kits on eBay and them being good and all but just make sure to get a better quality head gasket.
Best to stick OEM and save gas.

#567692 Compressor

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 12 July 2014 - 01:06 AM in 1G CRX

Why does this remanufactured compressor have 3 red wires coming out of it? Anyone have any answers please tell me because this looks like a remanufactured joke to me.

#567413 3D Printing Parts... Anyone Printed Anything

Posted by Richardcoto452th on 02 July 2014 - 10:42 AM in General Posts

It comes out with a weird glossy finish from what I remember but it looked well together and still able to flex at points needed. If I owned a machine I'd print out delete pieces, throttle body's, hub nut caps for the CF rims, mugen wing réplica Badge. Go for it and start making money here lol.
