Well I've had my car for a while now and its gone through a rough life with me. At this point I want to do the body work thats been left primered for quite a while now, it was painted in 2003 but since then its had some booboo's and cracks. It used to be my daily driver and commuter to school and work and on weekends, so its racked up some miles on rebuilt motor but nothing wrong with it except for i think a leaky head gasket still have to find the source of the coolant showing up on the ground. The reason for this post is to share some stuff I am doing so that I can help others do it or some help I may need along the way. Ill post my personal mod list I type as I add things to remember what all I have in it.

-Engine

Stock 1.5L Carb
Custom 2" exhaust
Removed AC belt
APC Air Breather

-Suspension

Cut Intrax lowering springs
Notched Torsion bars to lower front (1 notch)
Front struts notched lower into the hub (more suspension travel)

-Exterior

Sylvania cool blue 9004 headlamps
Repainted Exterior Stock silver (2003)
Tinted windows w/ sun strip

-Interior

Reupholstered Door Panels & Speaker Grills (Black)
Custom carperted cargo area platform (half finished)
APC Shift knob
88-91 prelude seats (black w/ red honda logo stiched on headrest)
Grant chrome steering wheel with grant hub adapter

-Electronics

Pioneer Headunit
Kenwood 4" in doors along with some cheap tweeters also hidden in door
Audiobahn 12" subwoofer
Kenwood 1000watt amp
Sony Xplod 444watt amp

Bulldog alarm w/ LED flasher
Universal power door locks w/ keyless entry
Remote car starter (needs some tuning to make it work with carb car, only starts when warm as of right now)

So thats what I can think of thats in the car now. For the motor, I'd like to do a few things but I havent decided yet, I like the fact its good on gas and dont want to spoil that too much, Interior is almost completed with minor things to get done that I will post as I complete, The exterior was painted a while ago and I will fix what needs to be done and prep and paint it myself. I already have the paint. Anyway ill show a few pics now of the recent things ive done.

These are just pics of things I recently completed, some were done a while ago but most is recent. I'll post progress pictures next time of the new things that are soon to come.

Pioneer Headunit, APC shiftknob, Grant Steering wheel (got it free just had to buy the hub adapter, not my first choice but I think it suits the old school feel of the car) and my switch for fogs next to the headunit.

Prelude seats, redone black door panels

The motor (nothing fancy, just resprayed the valve/air cleaner cover) the blue is actually darker in person.

Repainted the front lip black

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

The seats before installing, was a real pain to get these in properly but is now well worth it because I know its safe. Had to make lots of adjustments to allow them to recline right to the back and I am using 1 original bolt hole for each seat, the other 2 are bolts going through the metal support and the last is a custom made bracket that actually mounts in with my seatbelt clipper thingy.

The grill that I cutout a long time ago and added in some foglights that i recessed into the bumper.

This is me around 2003 doing a stunna stance infront of the car when I did body work and prepped it for paint.

Big ass exhaust tip i want to replace with something smaller.

I found his thread I just have to know measurements of the bar closed and all the way open to make sure I have enough adjustment to bring the axle back in. If i can get this then I will only expose the amount of threads needed to keep the bar strong and rigid. Also I noticed everyone says that the axle moves towards the drivers side when lowering and few have said it moves to the passenger. I am one of the few and I want to bring it back to center, I dont get how some cars go one way and others go another way. I want to make sure an adj bar will fix it.

Small update also: Today I brought some hardware home from work and bolted up the sagging lip nice and tight with a lot of bolts and even drilled some holes and added some extras in. Tomorrow I think ill start prepping some of the plastic pieces for paint.

Was too hot to work on the car the last little while and have been busy, but recently have been back to work, ive got all the plastic off the car and fixing all the cracks with this fiber glass and bondo kit that i bought made for car and boat repair. everything seems real strong after its all done and sanded so it should hold up compared to repair job i did before. also fixing dents on the body and did some filling with bondo. today i went to the junkyard after i heard they had an old crx there. got there and i couldnt find it so i talked to a young guy that works there and says there was a nice one wanted to help me find it and ended up finally finding it with an old escort on top and it jammed up against other cars ready to be crushed. it was a complete 86-87si with 88crx seats and exhast with very clean interior and plastic, only thing missing was the rad. sooo sad to see this thing ready to be crushed, well i ended up only needing the passenger side door armrest but i oouldnt open the door to get the panel off so it was pretty fun trying to rip it off the door with the door closed. eventually got it off, sucks cuz the interior is mint and i ended up hacking the thing up. Also while im doing the body work ill be switching out my 84/85 front bumper with the grill cut out back to an 87 bumper with the grill still on it. Should look a bit better and wrap around the lights nicer then before. ill update soon with pics after this weekend when i get a bunch more body work done.

Also i have a few questions for those who have si sideskirts on their dx body. Do they just swap right over and can i switch the trim on it to the dx trim so all the moulding around the car is the same like the dx has. reason is the si at the yard is ready to go and id like to pick them up if i can for cheap.

wow. it's nice to see that someone else has made the prelude seats fit. i ended up using the stock inside front bolt, and then using stock front and rear outside mounting points w/ studs and spacers. hadn't figured out what to do about that fourth mounting point yet though... i'll take a look at tying it into the seatbelt mount.

ill take pics of my seats mounted soon to show u my brackets, they were a real pain to make since i had to hammer and bend the steel as i didnt have acess to a welder at that time. but the ended up working good, i put a lot of time into the seats, i actually mounted one of the rails a bit different so that the seats would slide all the way back and stop right before hitting the trunk space. it was well worth the weeks put in to modify the seats now because they look stock and i have my stock seatbelt thing still in the same place just inbetween my custom bracket.

Also for an update: I've purchased a new passenger side armrest which was broken due to a girl using it as an "oh shit" bar while i was driving pretty wild on same back roads. And i picked up a set of rear speaker covers in black with the metal brackets. I spraypainted the grills black again to make them look new and armourall on it and they look new.. ill be making an update soon with pics.

I want to try to find an oem honda din cd player to replace my pioneer, i think it would match the gauges and fit the car way better.

i have an update just pics of what i was talking about earlier with the body work and stuff.

these are my rear speaker grills, after cleaning them up and repainting the grills.

installed

this is the kit my grandpa picked up and i've used it on my fenders, header panel, bumper, etc and it seems to work very well.

here it is after the crack is repaired, this is before bondo also, once i put a smooth layer of bondo the crack will be gone!
