Hi all,
Wondering, if I bore a EW .020, will stock head gasket work properly?

Or should i use something else.
Having a hard time getting a gasket to seal after rebuild.
Thanks

Use the d16a1 head gasket - make sure the head and block have the correct surface finish on them and that they are flat.

I find it very difficult to believe a fel pro is better than an oem gasket. Maybe they are for honda, I don't use them anymore. I have replaced too many felpro head gaskets in other makes with victor riez ( now mahle) or oem when available. an example would be 5.9 cummins the felpro fire ring is HALF! the width of an oem or mahle. another bit of info mahle is an oem supplier for most manufacturers  pistons, rings, gaskets etc. they must be doing something right.

but as far as the original posters complaint I think I saw autozone rents a straight edge. use that and a .002" feeler gage straight across the long way in 3 spots and in a X  the feeler gage should NOT fit under straight edge anywhere. you engine machine shop may loan you one or you can buy one off of amazon. https://www.amazon.c...-11&ref=sr_1_11
