I'm trying to take off my mud flaps to paint the 'Honda' silver (like the back civic word), but there is one thing stopping me.. There is a little plastic screw that is holding the flap on, and it's not coming out. It's on the underside of the car. Also the funny thing is, the one on the passenger side has a stripped head.. Any advice on getting these out? If need be I'll upload pictures. But I own a 87 Civic hatch base model.

If it is the one on the side of the flap into the rocker panel, very carefully or break and replace. If you get a very small bolt extractor into the center of it you can lightly pull and unscrew at the same time to get it out. Last I checked these were still available from Honda, but last I checked was years ago when I bought some.
