fantastic! looks great
Every time you or someone else bumps this thread, I check it asap. you might include more in process pictures and maybe some HOW-TO... kakabox-ish style?. I'd recommend putting them on facebook since it is relatively quick and easy... you can also do it from your phone if thats what you're using for taking pictures. Im sure a lot of ppl look but dont post...

Ha I can't even begin to post how-tos and do half the crap that kakabox does. LOL the guy can even post pictures better than me. How-tos I'm pretty sure everything has been covered I've done. If I think of something I would love to make one. Plus I'm really a what people call a half-asser. Most of my crap I have to look up before I do it anyways. Then I go into my stage two. Cheapskate. If I can't get it at harbor or make it I don't need it. LOL believe it or not some of this I'm not joking.

I need to take a min to go and look up some stuff I can make for the car. I've had a bunch of free time at work making other people crap for their cars. Its my turn for me. Ideas?

Yeah I guess I'm like this too. Hints my post count. I just don't get how people have something to say on every topic. I'm on a bunch of forums but I have the highest post count on here.

You really know you have made it far on rpr when someone quotes you in their signature. I can't wait for the day!

I said time for me. See I'm just sitting in my new f550 idling waiting for someone else. Bored I could be doing something productive.

Uh oh I made it onto a sig. I've finally done something with my life. My parents will be damn proud! LOL life is good.

Update on the car.
Pulled the rest of the interior. LOL I chunked the back seat. Before I hit the door to the house I decided to take the brackets and hardware off them. Turned around and I see two dudes putting them in the back of the truck. LOL I hope my next seats have the hardware.
Went and looked at some fabric for the headliner and door cards. I chose a real deep red with black in it. That's the only thing that will be red on the inside. I don't like red paint.

Before... Thinking about doing a kakabox strut bar mod. Ill need to get a set of matching tires, level surface and some how incorperate the seat.

--------------------------------------

Okay here is a write-up for Zak.

Valve Cover Painting

What you will need:
Aircraft remover (i didn't use this but some peoples paint doesn't flake off like mine did)
Screwdriver
VHT wrinkle paint
Angled tip or very small screwdriver
Sandpaper (500-1500)
Cleaning agent I used purple power
Heat gun or oven
Painters tape

Spray the aircraft remover on the surface of the VC to remove the old paint. May not come off the first time but let it sit for awhile. I flaked my paint off with a wire wheel and used a screw driver to get into the small crevasses.

Once all the paint is off the vc you can sand it down so you can get the paint to stick. Then it's time for cleaning. Then clean it again. Again. Then once more. Air dry.

Tape up the opening and whatever you don't want painted.

Follow the paint manufactures directions on paint application. I sprayed 3 coats on horizontal then vertical. Let sit for 5 min. Then repeated.

Use heat gun and heat surface. Wrinkled surface should appear after a few minutes of heat. If wrinkle does not appear in all areas stop and respray. Let sit over night to cure or put in the oven for a couple hours to cure.

Peel tape. If needed sand areas that tape might not have covered.

(Before sanding)

Only after paint has cured should it be returned to the car.

THE red car got new shoes today. Woooo lol

I'm beginning to decide my suspension. I've have decided to go low and stiff. I'm not going all out ax but I want something good. So far I am shooting for rear strut tower brace, adjustable PHB, cut rsx springs, new struts, teg tbars, disc rear brake, vented front disc with si calipers, all new bushings+balljoints+tierods, and a rear sway bar.

Updated pics. It's not done but just wait.

Thanks.! smile.gif

Anyone have any ideas on stuff I can do? Looking for something different.

I'm just putting this out. If I were to run into a RHD 1g crx, 3g hatch, or subaru I would jump on it.

Put some tint on the car. Still need one more window sad.gif. Not sure about other states but here at sea level with the humidity at 100% at 110F in the summer we NEED tint. Also this is a 1.5 drop in the back with a few turns on the TBars.

Adjustable Panhard

Went to a u-pick-u-pull. Had my pick of adjustable toe links. I chose one from a 03 Elantra to do my kakabox adj phb. This particular link has a (1/2-5/8) X (5-6in) jack bolt in the middle. This will give me more surface area to weld to the old phb, I'm looking for strength. I did find a couple Mazda 626 rear links from the (kakabox thread mod) and I may pick those up for other members.

Side note. Lots of cars have adjustable rear toe links. Chrysler cirrus, 02 camry, 88-92 626, 03 elantra. Those are just a few cars that I stopped at.

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.
