I have done a few searches looking for intake manifold swap options and have come across a few posts whith guys saying they cant find aftermarket IM's for the d16a1.

The reason i'm looking is because i have a 95 and a 91 civic si intake (d16z6 and d16a6 respectfully) and what run one on my d16a1.

I went to Nopi and looked up the maniolds for all three motors by motor code and they all come up with the same three manifolds. The part number are exact no matter the motor code.

This mean the intakes should have the same gasket surface and will bolt up to our D16a1 heads?
If anyone knows from experience please confirm.

If i have to i'll pick up a new d16a1 gasket and test it against both manifolds but it would be nice to now before i have to buy one!

the only intake manifolds that will ft on a d16a1 are:

d16a1, DOHC zc, and custom ones.

THATS IT! all other manifolds have a WAAAAy different bolt pattern. trust me, i've been looking for 6 months for a replacement, and just ended up getting an 0bd1 dohc zc one so i could fit bigger/newer throttle bodies.

I don't think that the D16A1 shares the same mounting as the other D motors.

Bigger & newer TB's on a D16A1 intake are no problem. IandI Motorsports makes an adapter plate to fit B-series pattern TB's on the D16A1 intake with minimal modifications - the manifold has to be opened up to the same diameter as the TB being used.

There are no pictures yet, but contact gtpilot for more info.

yep, but they are VERY rare. there were less than 5,000 made. i bought an intake manifold from one, bored it to 60mm, and bolted my 98 b18 TB onto it....no adapter plates needed.

How did the larger TB do? Power, torque, top end,idle,etc...?

i didn't get a chance to put the new motor in yet. i have to tow my car over to my buddies house (hopefully this weekend). the problem is that i won't be able to tell you if it helped out. i didn't run this new motor yet in my car. since my other one blew up, i bought:

intake mani (bored/ported out)
put on the b18 tb
bought reground cams
bought a port/polished gasket matched head
+ some others.

^NOPI is the key word here... I've never received the right part from them the first time around. I hate having to order anything from them.
